Solitary Confinement? Yes or No?

As time goes by, it is brought up to a banker's memory that he once ago bet a lawyer a great amount of money to stay in solitary confinement for a certain amount of time which ended up being on an agreement of fifteen years.
As the lawyer commits to stay in solitary confinement for fifteen years, the isolation of the environment eats away his ability to show happiness. As more time passed by with the lawyer being in there alone, the lawyer took it upon himself to learn new languages, philosophy, and history from reading books.
Time is ticking. Fifteen years is almost up. Will the lawyer succeed in staying confined for fifteen years? The banker seems to think so and the banker's worries escalate by the second because if the lawyer wins the bet, he will go bankrupt. He makes a commitment top himself to execute to lawyer so he could keep all his money and not have to pay.
