Today we are learning about deserts. They can be found away from the coast and are in Southwestern US, North Africa, Mexico, and Australia.
The desert can be one of the hottest places on Earth with a temperature range of 50 degrees celcius during day time and can be lower than 0 degrees celcius.
The desert is known for very little precipitation so seeing a thing of water like this is rare. There is only 225 mm of rainfall each year, if that!
There are not very many animals in the desert due to the harsh environment. But some of the animals of the desert include Fennec fox, Addax, Camel, and the armadillo.
Some plants in the desert are cacti, prickly pears, the turpentine bush, and brittle brush.
The desert is a unique place and a hard place for animals and vegetation to adapt to. Also the temperatures are very unique as well. All of these factors make a unique biome.
