Storyboard Text

  • Today we are learning about deserts. They can be found away from the coast and are in Southwestern US, North Africa, Mexico, and Australia.
  • The desert can be one of the hottest places on Earth with a temperature range of 50 degrees celcius during day time and can be lower than 0 degrees celcius.
  • The desert is known for very little precipitation so seeing a thing of water like this is rare. There is only 225 mm of rainfall each year, if that!
  • There are not very many animals in the desert due to the harsh environment. But some of the animals of the desert include Fennec fox, Addax, Camel, and the armadillo.
  • Some plants in the desert are cacti, prickly pears, the turpentine bush, and brittle brush.
  • The desert is a unique place and a hard place for animals and vegetation to adapt to. Also the temperatures are very unique as well. All of these factors make a unique biome.
