  • Solid
  • It is so cold out. Where is the sun?
  • Yeah! When the sun comes out then the snow will melt.
  • Solid
  • Yay! The sun!
  • Liquid
  • Everything is starting to melt!
  • Now we can see grass!
  • All of the water is evaporating!
  • Since there is no sun out the molecules, or little particles that make up the snow, will stay very cold an in their own shape.
  • Gas
  • When the sun comes out it gets warmer. When molecules get warmer they start to move around.
  • Gas
  • Now its so hot! I want the water and snow back!
  • The snow melted because of the way molecules react to heat. When molecules get heated up they start to move around causing the snow to melt.
  • Gas
  • The water is evaporating because of the heat and going into the sky.
  • All of the water has turned into gas and there is only a puddle left.
  • Where did all of the water go?
  • The water that evaporated from the ground is now the clouds in the sky.
