Hey Gerald I'm having trouble with this math problem on the homework and I need some help
Yeah just let me go dry off and I'll give you guys a step by step process on how to solve 2-step equations.
Yeah same here can you help both of us? The equation is 3(4+4x)=22
Alright so to solve the problem 3(4+4x)=22. First you must distribute the 3 to each number inside the parenthesis. So 3*4 & 3*4x.
The equation after distributing the 3 should look like, 12+12x=22. Next you must isolate the variable (x) so to do that you must use the equality property of subtraction and subtract 12 from the 12 and the same to the other side (22).
After subtracting as described in the previous step, now your equation should look like, 12x=10. Now to get the variable to 1x. You must divide each side of the equation by 12 using the equality property of division.
After following the previous step, your equation should now look like, x=10/12. Since 10/12 is not simplified, you have to simplify it which equals 5/6. So your solution to this equation should be x=5/6
Thanks for the help Gerald I really appreciate it.
Yeah... Thanks man!!! Now I know how to solve 2-step equations.
No problem guys.
