  • Background
  • Hi! My name is Heather and I'm going to tell you all about the Vietnam War.
  • The Domino Theroy
  • Woah Heather. Thats crazy dude! If the U.S went to war with China we would be crushed like a snail dude. Not groovy at all
  • The U.S. Moves In
  • I'm Diem and together with the U.S we can crush the terrible, communist North!
  • After WW11, Vietnam became an independent country. The U.S saw Vietnam as a communist country and blocked aid. Later America started a war with Vietnam in an attempt to stop communism.
  • The U.S. Invades
  • Maybe this isn't the best place for me to be
  • The U.S believed that if Vietnam fell to communism, then so would the rest of Southeast Asia. They tried their best to avoid war, as they knew that powerful China would easily enter the war if the U.S made them angry
  • Struggles
  • I've found my way into the enemy's tunnels. Shhh don't let them know im here
  • The U.S. established troops in South Vietnam in order to protect it from the communist North. The leader Diem, begins to ruthlessly attack anyone who he sees as a "Viet Cong" or Vietnamese communist.
  • It Doesn't Get Better
  • I will continue to outnumber all of you Americans forever!
  • The U.S marines set foot on Vietnam. They prepare to defend Da Nang and they wait for supplies.
  • America has a hard time fighting in an unfamiliar climate. The Viet Cong built and lived in underground tunnels making it hard for the U.S. to find the enemy.
  • North Vietnam continues to outnumber the U.S.America had underestimated the enemy and many Americans at home were sick of the war.
