  • Principle 1: Genetic Variation
  • Principle 2: Overproduction and the Struggle to Survive
  • Principle 3: Differential Survival and Reproduction ( Survival of the Fittest)
  • Genetic Variation is the variety of genes within a group of organisms. In this scenario the variations are red skin snakes and green skin snakes.
  • Principle 4: Change in the Gene Pool
  • There is no overproduction. The red snakes are strugling to survive because they are more visible to the hawks (Predators).
  • Adaptation
  • Organism: Snake Enviorment : Forrest Trait selected for: Green Skin Adaptation Type: Physical-Camouflage
  • In this scenario the green snakes were able to survive. They survived because of their special adaption  which is camoulfage. Their green skin blended in with the grass therefore they were less visible compared to the red snakes.
  • Biology

  • Due to the fact that the red snakes were more visible they were hunted more and were not able to reprouduce. The green snakes sruvived and more of them reproduced. Overall the snake's genepool contains more genes for green skin.
