  • Old Yeller by Fred Gipson Jozi Coddington
  • In the year 1860 in Texas. Papa leaves to herd steers to Kansas along with the other men of the settlement. He leaves Travis, his 14 year old son, in charge of the house. Travis has to take care of Little Arliss, his 5 year old little brother, along with Mama. Soon after he meets Old Yeller.
  • You take care of things while I'm gone.
  • Exposition
  • Little Arliss is in trouble when a mama bear sees him with her cub. Old Yeller saves Arliss and then Travis starts to appreciate Old Yeller.
  • Rooarrr!
  • AAAAA!
  • Let it go!
  • Rising Action
  • Grrrr!
  • Old Yeller fought the mad wolf that was threatening the family. Old Yeller got bit, and he could've gotten rabies. So to prevent him from going mad, Travis had to shoot him.
  • Climax
  • When Papa comes home he finds out that Travis had to shoot Old Yeller so he talks to him to help try to make him feel better.
  • A man can't afford to waste all the good parts, worrying about the bad parts. That makes it all bad... You understand?
  • Falling Action
  • When the speckled pup takes off with the bread it makes Travis feel better because he reminds him of Old Yeller.
  • Resolution
