  • Finally, his friend Auto, an autotroph, takes him in. Through photosynthesis CarBen now has a place to stay. Photosynthesis is when a plant takes in CO2 and light and produces O2 and glucose.
  • I got kicked out of the house, can I stay here?
  • Sure!
  • Auto
  • Plant
  • Unfortunately the two get in an argument, and CarBen must now find somewhere else to go.
  • C
  • You haven't been helping around the house, you can't stay here anymore!
  • Plant
  • CarBen now goes to his other friend, Rez Spire, who is a human. Now CarBen, after coming from an autotroph, can stay with a consumer. This is similar to cellular respiration, since the oxygen and glucose from photosynthesis can be converted back into CO2 and water.
  • Rez Spire
  • No problem!
  • Hey man, I need a place to stay for a little while. Do you mind if I crash here?
  • C
  • Rez Spire
  • Unfortunately, Rez Spire passes away. With nobody else, CarBen sinks down into a deep depression for years. This is decomposition, where organic material breaks down and the organic carbon returns to the soil where it can stay for long periods of time.
