  • I curse you!!!
  • -As Faustus signs the contract, the words 'Homo Fuge' begin to appear on his arm. -This scares Faustus. -Mephistopheles decides to distract him with a dance, attempting to take his mind of his doubts. - Faustus decides to request a wife but Mephistopheles denies this because he does not believe he can hand over love. -However, he does give him books of full knowledge.
  • -After a bit of time, Faustus is really angry so decides to curse Mephistopheles (feeling he has deprived him of heaven). -Despite him having seen many wonderful locations, he is angry that he has not been exposed to heaven. -He keeps on tormenting Mephistopheles until the devil decides to flee. -He is too scared to mention God. -The good and evil angel then arrive again.
  • -The good angel wants Faustus to repent. -The evil angel want Faustus to stick to his evil and manipulative ways. -Faustus is later joined by Lucifer, Belzebub and Mephistopheles. - They attempt to intimidate Faustus. -Faustus is taken back by them, agreeing to speak and think no more of God. -This is when the seven deadlly sin pagent takes place.
  • -This scene takes place after Faustus has explored all of the heavens and the Earth. -He is delighted by what he has seen. -He is currently flying his way to Rome. -A feast is honouring St Peter and is about to be celebrated. -A quite relaxed and tame scene with not much going on.
  • -Mephistopheles and Faustus sit while waiting for the pope. -The pope in Dr. Faustus is depicted as an arrogant and unholy man. -The play was made in a time were it was acceptable to poke fun at Catholics. -They play a series of tricks on the pope before leaving. -They make themselves invisible.
  • -The chorus of the play returns. -The chorus tells us that Faustus has returned home. -The chorus reacts and acts as a narration tool throughout the play. -They tell us about Faustus's circumastances. -They claim that his knowledge of astronomy and his abilities earn him wide renown.
