Frances Harper was raised by her aunt and uncle Mr. and Mrs. Reverend William Watkins. She was child to two free African American Parents. Her mother passed away when she was young and she had no siblings.
Frances stared writing at a young age in 1845 she wrote Forest Leaves
Frances went to the William Watkins Academy for Negro Youth in Ohio
She soon became the first Black Paid Abolitionist Lecturer and Short Story Writer
She passed away in 1911 at the age of 75
Few of Ms. Harper's works remain today it is very rare to find one.
