Storyboard Text

  • T:
  • Hmm...should I be a policeman or a pastor?
  • P:
  • I know! I'll go this way.
  • C:
  • Which one should I take?
  • Maybe I took the wrong one...
  • Nevermind! I took the right one!
  • I believe that this poem will be about someone choosing between two lives to lead.
  • A:
  • I'm happy with the descision I've made!
  • The speaker faces a critical decision in life, and makes the less popular decision, and is later glad for it.
  • T:
  • I remember when I had to make a life- changing decision once...
  • The speaker is uncertain about his decision, but then later is satisfied with his decision.
  • T:&T:
  • Hmmm...a life not lived.
  • Tone: The popular decision is not always the best one.
  • The speaker uses words like "long I stood", "sorry" and "sigh" to show that he is uncertain, but then words like "difference", "better" and "fair" to show us he is confident.
  • I'm not sure...
  • The speaker uses words and phrases like: "perhaps", "could"and "has made all the difference" (significant because it is past tense) to show a reflective, even, nostalgical tone.
  • Title: My earlier predictions were correct, but I did not realize that the poem is as much about the consequences of the decision as the decision itself and the experiences hat would come with the other decision that were missed out on.
  • Smoke!
  • No.
