  • KELLER! SHE CAN'T SEE OR HEAR, SHE IS BLIND AND DEAF!
  • Do you think they are going to get along all right?
  • Yes, I think they are going to get along fine.
  • The doctor told the Keller's that Helen would be okay from scarlet fever. When captain Keller was taking the doctor out to his horses Keller heard a sharp scream from inside. He ran up stairs and found Kate crying and she said that Helen was blind and deaf.
  • Annie (Helen's teacher) first meet's Helen, and realizes what Helen is like and how she acts. When Annie first see's Helen she starts teaching Helen language. Helen is very interested in what language is and Helen catches on very quickly. Annie also teaches Helen immediately to ask permission for something.
  • You have taught her so much this week. I do not know how I can repay you.
  • Not enough, I have not taught her enough.
  • Helen locked Annie in her room, because she was getting mad that she had to ask permission to get her doll. Helen ran out to the pump and sat down waiting for Annie to get out of the room. When Annie got out of the room she came down to the pump. When Helen realized that no one was there (Annie was secretly there though) she dropped the key into the pump, so Annie could not get out of the room.
  • WA...WA...
  • W,A,T,E,R It has a name.
  • Annie try's to teach Helen to eat properly from her own plate. Helen does not feel like listening though. But after much struggle with Helen she finally get's her to fold her own napkin and eat off of her own plate. So Annie talks to captain Keller and they agree on taking Helen to the garden house for two weeks, without her parents.
  • Time is almost up at the garden house for Annie and Helen. So Kate came by and was very pleased with what Annie has taught Helen, but Annie was not pleased she need's more time. But the Keller's want Helen back so they do not let Annie have more time.
  • Annie takes Helen out to refill the pitcher that she dumped on Annie. Because Helen thought that since she is home from the garden house that she can act like she has no manners. When Annie pours water over Helen's hand she realizes what it is. Helen say's "Wa, Wa" with a lot of struggle. Annie is very happy for Helen and calls her parents. Her parents are very relieved.
