  • Rising action
  • No. Why is everyone dying in the memory?
  • The exposition in the giver is everything before the ceremony of 12's when the story is talking about Jonas's life and how it is before he received memories.
  • Climax
  • The first rising action is when Jonas becomes the receiver of memory because here the story starts to change and get more dramatic.
  • Climax
  • I have got to get out of here!
  • The second rising action in the book is when Jonas receives painful memories from the giver and they are affecting his life. For instance, when all the kids are playing a game with guns they don't actually understand what death and murder are, and only Jonas understands that through the painful memories of death.

  • He killed it!!! MY FATHER KILLED IT!!!
  • The second climax of the story is when Jonas escapes, because once again the story is changed in a big way here. And because he escapes the story will not be very diffrent.
  • The falling action is when Jonas starts to think about how much he misses his friends and family.
