Continental drift was a theory that explained how continents shift position on Earth's surface. A man by the name of Alfred W. made this theory. He believed that the continents were all together making something called Pangea.
At first people did not agree on Wegener's theory because he did not have evidence to back it up. Years later he proved that the continents might have been together because he found the same fossils on far away countries. Also because they fit together like puzzle pieces.
Some believe his theory and same do not, but we can not prove that this theory was real because we don't have the technology right now, but personally I believe in this theory.
