Storyboard Text

  • Tone
  • MOOD
  • Brother's Character
  • Depressing because in this scene Doodle dies and it sets a really sad and depressing tone.  "I lay there crying, sheltering my fallen scarlet ibis from the heresy of rain".
  • Doodle's Character Traits
  • It had a hopeful mood because throughout the story we thought that he was kind of normal and he will become a normal child.  "I prepared a a terrific development program so he could learn to swim, climb, and fight."
  • Theme
  • Brother is a static character because he stays kind of ignorant and selfish against his little brother and does what he does because he's embarrassed of him.
  • FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE
  • Dynamic because he goes from being a kid who can't do anything to a kid that knows how to walk, talk, and think.
  • Hope sometimes disregards happiness.
  • "Success lay at the end of summer like a pot of gold", the author writes this to show that they wanted to accomplish their goal by the end of the month, this is a simile.  "enfolding the boy gently like a losing go-to-sleep flower, burying him in the glorious iridescent, rustling vortex.",this is a simile, the author uses this to show that the peacock wraps his feathers around the boy.
