Ugh. I hate school. And to make things worse I got into an argument with my mom this morning. I can tell it's going to be a bad day.
Hi, Mary. Are you alright? I noticed you look a little upset today.
I guess so. I had an argument with my mom this morning and now I'm in a bad mood.
I'm really sorry to hear that. But you are always so positive and have great ideas in my class. Do think you could try to put what happened this morning aside right now and stay positive? Then after class I would be happy to talk to you more about what's happening at home.
Thanks, Ms. Smith. I will try my best today.
Maybe today won't be so bad after all.
Hmm... Bob and Sarah seem very chatty lately. Maybe I should have Sarah sit close to my desk today.
Sarah, why don't you sit up here at this desk today so that you can really concentrate.
Okay, Ms. Smith.
