Storyboard Text

  • Exposition: Characters- Whitney, Rainsford, Zaroff, Ivan Setting- The Carribean at night Mood- discomforted
  • Title: The Most Dangerous Game
  • "No General, I will not hunt" (Connel 73).
  • Conflict: Man vs. Man Zaroff and Rainsford Fight for survival
  • General Zaroff wants to hunt humans and wants to play against Rainsford
  • "The pit grew deeper, when it was above his shoulder, he climbed out and from some hard saplings cut stakes... These stakes he planted in the bottom of the pit with the points sticking up" (Connel 78). he made a Burmese tiger pitso that zaroff would fall in and die or to kill the hounds
  • "He caught hold of a springy young sapling, and to it he fastened his hunting knife, wit the blade pointing down the trail...Then he ran for his life" (Connel 79). The knife was to drive into Zaroff killing him instead he got Ivan.
  • "He struck off from the rude path that he had been following into the trackless wilderness. He executed a series of intricate loops, he doubled on his trail again..." (Connel 75). Gave him a false trail to follow.
  • Rising Action:
  • "But the hope was that was in Rainsford`s brain when he climbed died, for when he saw in the shallow valley that general Zaroff was till on his feet... The knife, driven by the recoil of the springing tree, had not whooly failed" (Connel 79). He realizes he just has to survive and not be killed by the hounds or Zaroff.
  • Climax:
  • Falling Action:
  • "At ten when he went up to his bedroom. he was deliciously tired, he said to himself, as he locked himself in. There was little moonlight, so before, turning on his light he went to the window and looked down at the courtyard...Then he switched on his light. A man who had been hiding in the curtains of the bed"(Connel 80). He reaches the house first and has surprised Zaroff.
  • Zaroff says,"I congratulate you. You have won the game"(Connel 80) Rainsford did not smile.
  • "Splendid! One of us is to furnish a repast for the hounds. The other will sleep in this very excellent bed On guard Rainsford..."(Connel 80). Rainsford wins the game and for Zaroff he dies because he serves as sacrifice for the hounds.
