Elizabeth I was considered to be one of England's greatest monarchs. She built up England's navy and increased trade, she also spoke many foreign languages.
The English Civil War was an important turning point in the history of the Constitutional government in England. The ideas of the Puritans also shaped the development of the colonies that became the United States in the 1700s.
During the Glorious Revolution Parliament overthrew James II and asked James's daughter, Mary, and her husband William, to take the English throne. This time period is called the Restoration- bring back the monarchs!
The English Bill of Rights A set of acts passed by the Parliament to ensure its superiority over the monarchy. This included rules like the King must work regularly with Parliament, and must give the House of Commons financial control
