This is Kuwai Otaro. He’s a Hawaiian native whisked away forcibly by a charming girl named Yuzi (who is a witch) to rescue Raby, her brother (who has become a demon by the great monster of Goon, who kidnaps people to make them his servants) and her wand that significantly amplifies her powers. She has chosen him because he has the “Open Mind,” able to easily think of strategies in a blink of the eye, and unknown to him, is also a wizard, hidden with the normal people. Yuzi makes him come using cute charm and pleading. In the end, he comes along.
Please come with me! *Sniff...*
Fine... I'll go...
Yuzi and Kuwai teleport into a cave. The cave smells of rotten fish and consists of a maze. The maze constantly changes wall panels, so it is almost impossible to get out of the place. Creatures ambush the people who enter, and there is no food and water. At the end is the Goon. Anyone who has survived to this point gets defeated and eaten by the Goon.
Kuwai gets help from no one but Yuzi, a witch who has the mind of a 10 year old. She can barely help, as she is a witch who uses a wand, while Kuwai is one who can do magic without a wand. All he needs to do is imagine, and the object he thinks of would come true, although not with wands and dark magic. Without her wand, her powers are limited to teleportation, which helps Kuwai escape the creatures that nearly ate him.
Make a sword...
Kuwai faces many different changes to his personality while on this quest. First off, he slowly becomes more confident upon the quest, to the point from running away from creatures to actually starting to slay them. Kuwai would use his thoughts and calculations (which he never knew he could) from the Goon’s grumbling to find his way through the maze, along with encountering Rabi as one of the creatures and fighting urges to kill him, instead trapping him.
Kuwai has two things he is very proud of that he conjured. His sword, which he named “Frenzy Fright” gives off an aura that changes willpower to physical power. His bow and 12 arrows, which he named “Fatheranger” has arrows that catch aflame when it hits a target. Both of these weapons ensured Kuwai’s survival.
Um... Bow and Arrows? Sword?
In the end, Kuwai slays Goon, who releases everything he ate and a gas. The purplish gas floats towards all of the demons, reversing them back to what they were. The things he ate were revived immediately upon the death. Kuwai was given from the recently transformed demons, was rewarded a wand of his own, which further enchanted his ability. In the end, Kuwai decides not to return to the normal world, instead living in the village that the recently transformed people built. He became the Head Protector of the village for the rest of his days.
