January 21 1924- Lenin Dies. Staling tells Trotsky a different date, so he doesn't attend the funeral. Before this, they had attacked Trotsky for his Menshevik work earlier.
"You're not a true Leninist"
Stalin attempts to ruin Trotsky's reputation. In 1925-25 accuses him of not properly following Leninism.
"Socialism In One Country" We don't need a worldwide revolution, we just need the Soviet Union to be powerful.
Tortsky vehmently disagreed, but was now too disliked. Zinoviev and Kamenev were more right so wanted him removed from the politburo
October-November 1926: ·At the Fifteenth Party Congress, Stalin attacks the "United Opposition" of Zinoviev, Kamenev, and Trotsky.
By the time of the next Party Congress, in October of 1926, Zinoviev and Kamenev had been removed from the Politburo. He now had enough power to remove all anti-leninists, including Trotsky
Stalin now hadd enough power for Bukarin to retreat. Stalin also put forward his 5 Year Plan for rapid industrialisation of Russia, to be enforced by Gosplan
