Storyboard Text

  • I am the father spirit... The serpent that did sting thy father's life now wears the crown.
  • To be or not to be- That is the question. Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer or take arms against a seas of troubles
  • O, what a rash and bloody deed is this.
  • I do repent, but I did what I had to do.
  • The Critical Discovery of this play is when Hamlet finds out that his father was killed by his uncle, now the King. He decides then that he needs to act in vengeance for King Hamlet by killing Claudius.
  • I am constant to my purpose. I shall win at the odds.
  • Hamlet's Fatal Flaw is that he cannot decide what he wants to do. He knows he wants to kill Claudius, but he cannot bring himself to do it. The internal struggle of decisiveness is what leads to his downfall.
  • Give me the cup: let go; by heaven, I'll have't. Tell my story to others.
  • Hamlet was off to a good start before the accidental death of Polonius. After this, all of Hamlet's ideas did not work out and caused a lot of problems, which is why this could be considered a Reversal of Fortune.
  • This quarry cries on havoc. O proud death. Go and take Hamlet to honor him to the crowds.
  • Hamlet's Overbearing Pride is what made him fight Laertes. Hamlet did not want to be seen as weak and he wanted to prove Claudius wrong, so he fought to show that he was powerful.
  • The Unavoidable Fate for Hamlet at this point is death. He has resigned himself to death and takes the goblet to drink it himself. He knows he will die either way and is willing to easily give up for others.
  • After the hero, Hamlet, and everybody else dies, the reader is left with pity as almost everybody in the play dies and Hamlet has lived such a struggled life where he could not accomplish his tasks.
