  • Stalin and President Truman decided to withdraw the US and the Soviet Union from war, then in June 1950 North Korea invaded South Korea.  
  • In 1943, Korea was declared independent. It was decided that the Soviet Union would occupy the North and the US would occupy the South.
  • President Truman recognized South Korea as the government of Korea. 
  • While Stalin saw the chance to extend communism through North Korea's means of invading the south. 
  • North Korea had better military advancements than South Korea. The Soviet Union equipped the North Korean army with military weapons, tanks, and armored vehicles. 
  • North Korea was winning against South Korea. 
  • We sent U.S troops to help South Korea to stop communism.
  • President Truman was looked down upon by the public because the war accomplished nothing, but there were countless death and the division of North Korea and South Korea.
