  • Exposition: Characters- Rainsford, Whitney, General Zaroff, Ivan Setting- Night time on the Caribbean Mood- Mysterious/Scary
  • "No General, I will not hunt"( Connell 73).
  • Conflict:
  • "He caught hold of a springy young sapling, and to it he fastened his hunting knife, with the blade pointing down the trail; with a bit of wild grapevine he tied back the sapling. Then he ran for his life"(Connell 78).
  • "Not many men knew how to make a maby man catcher"(Connell 77).
  • Rising Action:
  • "I'll give him a trail to follow muttered rainsford, and he struck of from the rude path he had been following into the trackless wilderness" (Connell 75).
  • "Across a cove he could see the gloomy gray shore of the chateau. Twenty feet between him the sea rumbled and hissed Rainsford hesitated. He heard the hounds"(Connell 80).
