Hey i'm Holden and i suffer from mental health and insanity. I am very unstable and tend to do crazy things to try to get my mind off of my true problems. I tend to call out others flaws to cover my own. I have gotten kicked out of many schools and in each school i have waited for someone to say goodbye and never once received it. I feel alone and call people up to try to keep myself going and moving.

Bad mental health and Insanity is what drives Holden to do many crazy and unusual things. Trying to keep his mind off of his problems and depression is his main goal. He turns to smoking and drinking as a recourse to help get his mind off of things.
During this scene Holden starts to reveal how the night of Allies death went and his emotions and reactions. He was truly upset and went very crazy unleashing his feelings out. This is where all of Holden's depressions and Mental issues originate. His own family noticed how much Holden was affected by Allies death and knew Holden was not the same and wanted to get him psychoanalyzed.
This is the last and final scene of the story and Holden explains that he is at a mental institution and How D.B comes out to see him and spend time with him. This shows how all along Holden was truly struggling with mental illness especially with depression and what caused him to be the way he is was his dear brothers Allie's death.
