Evidence 1: Charlie blames Tommy for being the monster even though he is a kid and they are all adults
Fear and suspicion are destructive forces
Evidence 2: Everyone becomes violent when they can´t find who to blame because they think there could be a monster of alien shutting off their machines on there own street.
Evidence 3: When the lights in people´s house turn on and off people become more frightened and violent
NO IT´S YOU
The citizens don´t realize that Tommy is a kid and they got an idea that there were monsters form him but still blame him.
The citizens are angry and scared because they don´t know who´s to blame, and are confused to what had just happened in the sky and start to react without thinking.
The residents get more violent because they don´t think about the situation and just act leading to someone getting hurt like how pete van horn died from charlie not thinking and just shooting.
