Storyboard Text

  • Ares was born because Hera was angry that Zeus had Dionysus with another woman. So, she took a magical herb that allowed her to have a child. This is how Ares was born.
  • When Ares was a toddler, he was kidnapped by 2 Aloadai giants and put in a bronze jar. Zeus cared very little about it but Hermes went to save Ares.
  • Ares grew to love war, fighting, bloodshed and anarchy, and this made the other gods fear and sort of distrust Ares because all he wanted was to kill and rage war.
  • All of his characteristics made him polar opposites with Athena, another war deity, who believed in justified war and strategy. This made Ares and Athena dislike one another.
  • War wasn't the only thing that Ares loved, he also had a relationship with Aphrodite, despite her being married to Hephaestus.
  • So Ares is the bloodthirsty god of war among the Olympians, who loves Aphrodite, is the opposite of Athena, and is useful to the gods for war but is highly distrusted.
