  • Earl Lloyd was born on April 3 1928 in Alexandria Virginia and died on February 26 2015 in Crossville Tennessee. Earl Lloyd was drafted by the Washington Capitals in 1950. He finished his career with the Detroit Pistons in 1960. Earl was inducted into the NBA hall of fame in 2003
  • Earl Lloyd was know for being the first African american basketball player but also for a lot more things. For example he was the first African american to win an NBA title. Also he was the first African American assistant coach. Last but not least he was voted the top 50 players.
  • Earl Lloyd was considered the first African American to play in the NBA. He set and example for many other people. He was one of the most important player in the NBA. For example without him some one else would have evatually had to step up and be the first African amercian to play. That also shows he had a tough time because the fans bullied him.
