Burning of executive mansion
This storyboard does not have a description.
As Dollie went downstairs to prepare dinner, she heard the news of the British arriving soon.
Everyone in the house scurried around to grab only the most valuable items.
The British troops arrived in the late afternoon.
The British troops invaded the house, found the feast and ate it all.
After the feast, the British set fire to the Executive Mansion in revenge of the American troops burning down Canadian buildings earlier in the war.
Luckily, Dollie Madison escaped the mansion before she could get hurt, and took the portrait of general George Washington.
