Storyboard Text

  • "Oh no, we have to go warn the others!"
  • "Hey guys, where's the rest of your school?"
  • "The mean fishermen took them away and got a dolphin too!"
  • "Oh no! Dolphin watch out the net is going to get you!"
  • In "Sustainable Fishing Methods"it says "In some areas, gillnetting is not a responsible form of fishing because it can accidently entangle  and kill sea turtles and other marine animals."
  • "Oh no! They're gillnetting, this is really bad!"
  • "I'm glad we saved that dolphin. But why are there only three orange roughy in that school?"
  • "Well, like the fishermen took all of your friends they have been overfishing the orange roughy so much they're almost extinct!"
  • There was a case study in The World WIthout Fish  on page 48 it says "The large- scale killing of fish that haven't reproduced will in time destroy them, and that's exactly what happened to the orange roughy population."
  • "Since gillnetting is bad what is a sustainable fishing method?"
  • There is a case study in "Sustainable Fishing Methods" . About trolling it says "It's still sustainable because by-catch is minimal and can be released quickly."
  • "Trolling, trolling is good because it is towing individual anchored lines from a moving boat. But it doesn't have much by catch because it can be released quickly."
  • "Do you guys know anything about buying the right type of fish and it still being sustainable?"
  • A case study in "Sustainable Fishing" on spearfishing says "Spearfishing is a popular recreational activity in some ares of the United States, including Florida and Hawaii. This fishing method is considered sustainable because it targets one fish at a time and results in very little by-catch."
  • "Yes, we know that spearfishing is good. Its a popular recreational activity in some parts of the United States."
  • "Well guys we found more of your school. I guess this is goodbye thanks for helping me learn more on fish depletion. Have fun and be safe!"
  • "I guess this is goodbye hopefully we will meet up again."
