  • "O deadly sin, O rude unthankfulness!"
  • Tybalt challenges Romeo to a duel. But, Romeo refuses because he is married to Juliet and it would be wrong to kill his wife's cousin. So, Tybalt and Mercutio fight with Tybalt coming out as the victor. Mercutio dies and from his wound and Romeo kills Tybalt to defend Mercutio's honor. Thanks to the help of Benvolio, the Prince banishes Romeo from Verona instead of killing him for punishment of all the deaths.
  • Act 3 Scene 4
  • "O' Thursday, tell her,/ She shall be married to this noble earl."
  • Juliet anxiously awaits to hear from Romeo, her new husband, through the communication of the Nurse. When the Nurse arrives, she misleads Juliet by making her think that Romeo is dead, and then Juliet thinks Tybalt and Romeo are dead. Eventually, the fight and deaths are cleared up and Juliet says she forgives her sweet husband for the wrong he has done. Juliet is depressed with the death of her cousin so the Nurse agrees to go get Romeo to come comfort Juliet.
  • Act 3 Scene 5
  • "Hang thee, young baggage, disobedient wretch!"
  • Romeo hides away in Friar Lawrence's cell. Romeo becomes overcome with sadness and threatens to stab himself because his banishment is far worse than death. Living without Juliet feels much worse than dying. Friar Lawrence tells Romeo to be grateful and to go comfort Juliet before he must leave to Mantua. The Nurse takes Romeo's ring as a physical representation of Romeo to give to Juliet. Then Romeo gets ready to go meet his love and the Nurse returns home.
  • Paris meets with Juliet's parents. Lord Capulet suggests that now is a great time for Paris to marry Juliet because she is vulnerable and sad because of her cousin's death, therefore making her more vulnerable and obedient to what the Lord orders her to do. The wedding date is set for Thursday.
  • Romeo comes to see Juliet before he must leave and the two kids savor each moment they share together. Then, after Romeo is gone, Juliet's parents enter and tell her of the proposed marriage with Paris on Thursday. Juliet rejects it because she is married to Romeo and Lord Capulet gets very angry with Juliet and calls her ungrateful. When Juliet has no one to help her out of this mess, she goes to the Friar. She says that if he can't help her, she always has the option of taking her life.
