Lydia goes on and on about the carriage ride and insists the girls go visit Meryton to see the officers. Elizabeth, however, is very opposed to seeing Wickham.
Elizabeth tells Jane about Wickham and they debate on exposing him. Meanwhile, Mrs. Bennet continues complaining about the loss of potential husbands for her daughters.
Colonel Forster's wife invites Lydia to stay at Brighton. To Kitty's dismay, Mr. Bennet allows his daughter to go with the hopes that the colonel will keep her out of trouble.
