Tomiko and her family's home
At the cave, the solider saw Tomiko and stopped her. They said and repeated to her"we are going to be bombing this place so if you want to leave leave now, or be happy to die with us"
On Tomiko's 7th Birthday her mother died. It is called th saddest day of her life
running away from home
In the end Tomiko finally reunites with her sisters. She is very happy to see them after a journey of trying to find them. Finally the sisters are together at last.
Tomiko's sisters and her were leaving there house and preparing for war
She will be getting split from her sisters soon and will be on a journey to find her.
A big symbol in the book is The white Flag that Tomiko holds to show her strength. The book after all is The Girl With The White Flag.
Tomiko's family that is very close to her, means everything to her. During the though times in war her family makes her going.
In the Pampas grass Tomiko finds a rabbit that she falls in love with. She spends a lot of time with Nini the rabbit that she named after her brother that sadly died. Nini the rabbit is also another example of how she keeps on going.
Through war she is experiencing tough horror times she faces. She knows her family is there to motivate her and keep her going.
