  • Shakespeare was born! His exact birth date is unknown due to lack of definite record Church records say he was baptized just three days prior to the guess.

  • Shakespeare's most likely first plays were the Henry VI trilogy. Hprobably began to write for the stage in the late 1580s
  • 1585-1592
  • Macbeth was written in 1606 and was a tragedy play with 18 characters. It was written by William Shakespeare and is considered to be one of his darkest and most powerful plays
  • How this affected our world today
  • “fashionable” (“Troilus and Cressida”), “sanctimonious” (“Measure for Measure”), “eyeball” (“A Midsummer Night’s Dream”) and “lackluster” (“As You Like It”); and the expressions “foregone conclusion” (“Othello”), “in a pickle” (“The Tempest”), “wild goose chase” (“Romeo and Juliet”) and “one fell swoop” (“Macbeth”). He is also credited with inventing the given names Olivia, Miranda, Jessica and Cordelia
  • He married his wife Anne Hathaway when he was 18 and she was 26, she was three months pregnant with Shakespeare’s child when they married. Their first child Susanna was born six months after the wedding.
  • Nobody knows what Shakespeare did between 1585 and 1592.
  • William Shakespeare influenced the English language more than any other writer in history, at the very least, popularizing—terms and phrases that still regularly come up in everyday conversation.
