This is Lucy. Lucy is a very health teenager that loves to play basket ball.
One day when Lucy was playing basketball when she tripped and scraped her knee.
Immediately when Lucy scraped her knee the receptors in the skin communicate to the control center that there was bleeding.
After taking the afferent pathway, blood clotting begins forming to stop the bleeding.
Blood clotting happens when the response from the brain takes the efferent pathway, the blood platelets then start clotting together in order to form a scab and to stop the bleeding.
As days go by, Lucy realizes that the scab is no longer there. That is because the blood platelets have done their job and stopped the bleeding. because of this, the clotting wasn't needed anymore.
