When Odysseus arrives to the Land of the Cyclops him and his men cross to the main land. Once they did Odysseus' men spot a cave full of sheep and crates full of milk and cheese. His men advised Odysseus to take some food but he decides not to. Then soon after, the caves inhabitant returns.
"You must be a fool to expect friendship from a Cyclops..."
"Strong winds blew us to your lands, and we come seeking friendships. Perhaps you will treat us as your guests, as Zeus, god of guests, as you wish."
By now, Odysseus is trying to find a way to escape. While the Cyclops was outside pasturing his sheep, Odysseus finds a wooden staff in the cave and hardens it with fire. The next day, the Cyclops returns and immediately Odysseus gets him drunk off wine. He collapses with intoxication. Then Odysseus decides that its time to stab him in his eye and he does so.

When morning comes, Odysseus and his men escape from the blind Cyclops by clinging onto the bellies of the sheep. Odysseus' men go onboard and their as safe as can be with the Cyclops flock of sheep as well. Then Odysseus reveals his true identity. The Cyclops then comes out of the cave and starts praying to his father, Poseidon.
Father, do not let Odysseus get home, But, if somehow he does get home let it be many years from now. Also make sure that he loses all his companions and for him to face bitter days.
