Hi there, my name is Jamal and i am 9 years old. I live in a two bedroom house with my parents and twin brothers.
Everyday i used to walk to school with my brothers and y friends. I always enjoyed school, because i could play with my friends, and we always did fun things.
Ever since the civil war started, the school has closed down, and we are made to work in the fields from 6 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon.
Every now and then, soldiers come to check up on us in the fields, to make sure we are doing the right thing. If we aren't, they beat us and don't give us our monthly pay. They are cruel and unfair people.
Each day, i think of the other kids my age around the world, and wonder what they do each day. Do they have the same strict rules everywhere in the world? Or is it just in Afghanistan?
Why do we have to be treated so unfairly? I can't leave the house without wearing a full Burka, and i have to take my father with me at all times. Why can't we just live a fair life, and do what we want?
