However, Quince told Bottom that he needed to stick to the role of Pyramus and Flute to the role of Thisby.
Quince continues to assign the roles of the play. He gives Robin Starveling the role of Thisby's mother, and he gives Tom Snout the role of Pyramus' father.
The next one to receive their role is Snug the Joiner. He has to take on the role of the lion because he is slow at learning his lines. He thinks that the lines of this role will be easier to for him to learn.
Bottom then thinks he would be a better option to play the lion. However, Quince tells him that he would do a terrible job because he would frighten everyone. Bottom then says that he can roar in a lower voice trying to convince Quince to give him the role.
Quince then tells Bottom that he can't play another role besides Pyramus. He begins to compare both Pyramus' personality to Bottom's to convince him that he is the only person right for the role.
Quince then requested them to practice and learn their lines. Since they were going to have a rehearsal the next day at the Duke's Oak. Eveyone agreed and exited Quince's house.
