Storyboard Text

  • Ok
  • lets go to the lab!
  • This week we are going to do a project on states of matter.
  • I have a flame and water.
  • First of all, we need to grab our materials to figure out if its chemical or physical change.
  • I have ice and a bowl of water.
  • Here we have a solid, liquid, and gas. Some key words are melting, evaporation, freezing, and condensation.
  • Oh yea chemical change not physical because it can be turned into water again.
  • Here we have a gas. The flame heats up the water and is called evaporation. This is called chemical change because you can't turn the heat back into water.
  • What about the ice cube??
  • Here we have a liquid, a solid plus heat equals liquid which is called melting. This is also called physical change because the water can be turned back into a solid.
  • And that includes our lab.
  • Here we have a solid, liquid-heat equals a solid a process called freezing. This is also called physical change because the solid can can be turned back into a liquid.
