  • ~Daily Life in the Roman Life~
  • "Go fetch me my robe, it's getting a little chilly in here. Also go put coal on the fire. Also I'm thirsty, get me a warm cup of tea."
  • Education
  • I learned a new word in Latin today...villa. What words did you learn today at school?
  • I don't go to school, my family can't afford it. I did learn how to sew a blanket.
  • Housing
  • I need to go to my grand house so I can be warm in this cold weather. Slave, go put coal in the fire so when I get home it's already warm. Okay kids, you ready to swim together?
  • Rich Roman: "Go fetch me my robe, it's getting a little chilly in here. Also go put coal on the fire. Also I'm thirsty, go make me a warm cup of tea." Poor Roman: "Why do I always have to do everything for you? You are so needy. I wish I were rich."
  • Religion
  • The gods will bring me good luck this year because I gave lots of offerings.
  • Yes, but the gods will still give me good luck because at least I could give food to them. You know we don't have much money to buy food.
  • Rich Roman Kid: "Hey, I just learned a new work in Latin! Do you know what it is? Villa. Villa means a house. What did you learn today at school." Poor Roman Kid: "I don't go to school. We can't afford it. Also the rich people won't allow us to go. I did learn how to make a blanket. It's really warm but it's only 3 feet, so it won't warm the whole family."
  • Food and Drink
  • We are gonna have honey, roasted parrots stuffed with dates, salted jellyfish, and snails dipped in milk for dinner tonight.
  • Rich Roman: "I need to go to my grand house so I can be warm in this cold weather. Slave, go put coal in the fire so when I get home it's already warm. Okay kids, you ready to swim together?" Poor Roman: "Yes, sir. Although I already put coal in the fire when we left. But quite alright, I will do it. Then can I go home to my family so we can be in our apartment house?"
  • The End
  • Rich Roman: "Oh, the gods will bring me a good new year since I'm bringing so much offerings for their altar. We will be having a grand festival tomorrow to honor the gods. Everyone is invited. Even you slaves. If your gonna make everything look good." Poor Roman: "Well I think that the gods will appreciate the food we could provide for them. We aren't rich so we didn't give as much food as you."
  • Rich Roman: "I need to make some food in my new kitchen. Are you guys ready for dinner? We are gonna have honey, roasted parrots stuffed with dates, salted jellyfish, and snails dipped in milk. " Poor Roman: "Well I hope my small grill works tonight so I can make food for our family. We are going to have chunks of fish along with some asparagus and a fig for dessert for dinner."
  • We are going to have chunks of fish along with some asparagus and a fig for dessert for dinner.
  • I hope after our conversation, you know that my life is so much better then yours.
  • Rich Roman: "I hope after our conversation, you know that my life is so much better then yours." Poor Roman: "You may have more things then we do and have lots more money, but we don't care. As long as we have each other, we are just fine with what we have."
  • You may have more things then we do and have lots more money, but we don't care. As long as we have each other, we are just fine with what we have each other.
