  • Dad, no! Please don't leave!
  • Exposition
  • Exposition (continued)
  • Rising Action
  • Waking up on a Saturday morning isn't the best thing when you've had a nightmare. In Jenny's dream, her father got a letter from the government saying the selective service chose him and that he should be deployed immediately.
  • Climax
  • I walk down stairs to ask my mom if I actually was dreaming or if reality had somehow slapped me in the face. "Hey, mom. Where's dad?", i said. Mom assures me, "He left for work ten minutes ago, honey."
  • Falling Action
  • Suddenly, dad busts through the door, only to let my hopes fall through the floor. "I am being deployed and have to leave right this minute. I love you all very much and I hope to see you in a couple of months!"
  • Resolution
  • While in battle fighting under his will for our country, Jenny's father was wounded and later died on scene. Jenny and her family would soon get the dismal call that would leave them broken.
  • Jenny's mom is anxious because they haven't heard an update on her husband and Jenny's father. She jumps with anticipation when her phone rings. She answers excitedly only to discover her attitude will drop when the news rings through her ears.
  • Jenny, her mother, and some relatives gathered around the casket and said their last goodbyes. It had been a long journey for the family and the people involved in Parker's father's life. Wounded in battle, but strong at heart, he continued to pop up in Parker's dreams as the perfect guardian angel for all to set trust. THE END
