Opening scene: Roger and Meredith are on a special anniversary date, reminiscing about the great moments in their relationship.
Shot 2 (flashback): Roger meets Meredith in the library she volunteered at while he is stressing over an essay on The Handmaid's Tale. Meredith helps him finish his essay and the two agree to see each other again under more romantic circumstances.
Shot 3: the memory ends somewhat abruptly when Meredith starts to show that she is upset. She admits to Roger that she's still upset about his newly developped cocaine habit. Roger thought they had put this to rest and that she understood.
Shot 3: Roger expresses his plans to join a 12 step program but makes it clear that it is for her sake and that he doesn't think he has a problem. Meredith is still visibly uneasy.
Shot 4: Roger takes this opportunity to move forward in his plans for the evening and proposes to Meredith in the middle of the restaraunt. Roger implies that if she says no, he will make a sene in the restaurant.
Shot 5: Text on screen reads - "To see Meredith accept the proposal, please go to auditorium 2. To see Meredith decline the proposal, please remain in this auditorium. The films will resume in 5 minutes."
