  • The bill is now able to be debated over.
  • Bill comes up for consideration
  • The House has a very structered debate but the Senate can speak as long as they want.
  • House and Senate members speak on behalf of the bill
  • A vote is taken on the bill
  • The majority vote passes the bill.
  • Bill is signed by the Speaker of the House and the President of the Senate
  • If the bill gets a majority vote then it is passed on to the president.
  • Bill is sent to the President
  • The President decides whether he wants to veto or sign the bill within 10 days.
  • The President has either signed it or Congress passed it with 2/3 vote. The bill is now legally a law and is taken into effect.
  • Bill becomes a law
