This is a science project. Mitosis is the process in which cells divide to create and have exact replicas of the cell.
When we are first developing before we are born we are a single cell, which is called a zygote. But as we develop more our cells go through the process of cell division. Some of this divison is meiosis but most of it is mitosis, which cells divide and their divisions have the same exact DNA.
As we all know, there are thousands upon thousands of cells in our bodies, but how did they get there?
Now, once we are born, what is Mitosis useful for?
Now, after we are born, we need to grow. In order to grow you need cells! Every time you grow thousands of cells need to be made to cover your bones and your skin and tissue for the amount you have grown. Growth is one of the most important jobs of Mitosis. So in order for you to grow you need your cells to divide.
What else does Mitosis do besides help you grow?
Mitosis doesn't just help you grow or just make sure you have plenty of cells in you body, it also helps out when you skin your knee, it helps with repair.! When your skin is trying to repair its self after you get a cut, new skin has to replace the old . IN order to do that you need the same exact skin you had before so you need...MITOSIS! That way you have the same amount of skin cells you had before.
Now I have a cut! Glad I have mitosis though because soon I'll be good as new!
