A Second Look
By kault, Updated
There I was suffering through a class that, although I didn't realize it at the time, had lost all meaning and value to me.
It wasn't until one day when I was sitting at Kroger waiting for medication from the pharmacy that I realized how miserable people choose to be. I watched as each person passed by noticing that most of them seemed miserable, aimlessly wondering through each day with no greater purpose outside of their own selfish world.
I watched as the pharmacists worked on the job they studied so hard and long for with the same blank aimless expressions on their faces. At that moment I knew that I did not want to be a pharmacist.
I thought about it for awhile. I talked to my family about my choice and I finally made a decision.
I had a meeting with my advisor and decided to change my major to education.
That will be fine. Let me know what I can do to help!
After my very first time in an elementary school, I knew I made the right decision.
