  • Poetic Tough Proud of his Name Dynamic because in the beginning, he doesn't really associate with the Socs but after Johnny dies he gets so fed up with them. ""I mean it" I hopped off the car. "I've had about all I can take from you guys." I started toward them," 
  • Goofy Doesn't take anything seriously Competitive Static, because throughout the book he stays his original, immature self. "Listen, kiddo, when Darry hollers at you... he don't mean nothin'. He's just got more worries than somebody his age ought to. Don't take him serious... you dig, Pony?
  • Sodapop Curtis (Soda)
  • Tough Closed-Minded Doesn't really talk about his feelings. Dynamic because throughout the book, he progressively gets softer and softer. "but you don't just stop living because you lose someone. I thought you knew that by now. You don't quit!
  • Darrel Curtis (Darry)
  • Johnny Cade (Johnny) (Johnnycake)
  • Stays prideful Quiet Needs to be handled with care Static, because he doesn't really ever change, and if he did, it wouldn't be dramatic enough to notice.  "Stay gold, Ponyboy. Stay gold."
  • Dallas Winston (Dally)
  • Full of himself Big Ego Proud to be a Greaser Static because he is always full-of-it, up to the very moment of his death. "but Dally hated to do things the legal way."
  • Hard to break Original Likes to drink Static because he never really gives away to his soft side or any of that. "I was plannin' on getting boozed up tomorrow night," Two-Bit said."
