Storyboard Text

  • I'm so confuzzled, what is prime factorization?
  • Prime factorization is when you break down a number until all factors left are prime.
  • so, is an example of a prime number 22
  • no, prime numbers are were the only factors are one and its self for example, 31
  • can you show us an example of prime factorazation
  • ya, can you use the number 32
  • sure, 32 can be divided by 4 and  8. neither are prime numbers .
  • so you keep  going , 4s factors are 2 and 2 . so those are prime .8s factors are 2and 4. 4s not prime so factors are 2and 2 .
  • so the prime factorization for 32is 2x2x2x2x2 but now we will need to separate it into powers .
  • can you explain more?
  • prime factorization is 2 to the 5th power which means 2x2x2x2x2. so 2 to 5th power is the prime factorization for 32 .
  • now we've learned prime factorization . yay!
