  • Arthur was the first born son of King Uther Pendragon and heir to the throne.
  • Status Quo
  • Due to war, Merlin, a wise magician, advised that baby Arthur should be raised in a secret place and none should know his true identity
  • Assistance
  • After King Uther died, there was conflict over who should be king, so Merlin created a sword in a stone, meaning whoever pulls it out is king of England. Many people tried, but Arthur was the only one who could pull the sword out.
  • 'Whoso pulleth out this sword of this stone is the rightwise born king of England'
  • Call To Adventure
  • Since Arthur pulled out the sword in the stone, he was crowned the new king of England
  • Departure
  • King Arthur fought against the Saxons' who were slowly taking over England. However, after many battles and a huge victory, the Saxons' advance was halted
  • Trials/Allies/Enemies
  • King Arthur then returned to Camelot where he built a strong castle. His knights met at a Round Table. They carried out many acts of chivalry as well as fighting beasts. They also searched for the 'Quest of the Holy Grail'
