  • He was the 7th president. He had 84 electoral votes and 108,740 popular votes.
  • Outcome
  • He was the 8th president. He had 99 electoral votes and 153,544 popular votes.
  • Outcome
  • He became the secretary of state. He had 37 electoral votes and 47,531 popular votes.
  • Outcome
  • He won the election. But he had help from Clay. People still questioned how he won. Jackson was the obvious winner. Adams became the 7th president of America.
  • He was a candidate. He was close to winning because he had majority of popularity votes, but not the majority of the electoral votes. This caused him to lose. The people that voted for Jackson (Jacksonians) called it a corrupt bargain.
  • He had the least amount of votes. But since he was the speaker of the house, he got to choose who became president out of the last three candidates. Him and Adams came up with an agreement, of which if Clay made Adams president then Clay would become the Secretary of State.
