  • It was a cold bleak December when I heard a strange tapping at my chamber door

  • It was midnight in December which was once again dreary. The narrator was nearly napping when he heard a sudden tapping at his chamber door. He thought it might just be a visitor at his door.

  • Leave my loneliness unbroken! quit the bust above my door!
  • The narrators heart grew stronger and wasn't hesitating any longer. He apologized if he may have called them by the wrong gender. He was napping when he heard the tapping again. He opened his chamber door but all that was there was darkness .
  • resolution
  • All the sudden he pulled at his purple curtains and in came a raven. The raven came and perched and sat on the paellas above his chamber door. The narrator asked if he would ever see Lenore ever again. All the bird ever said was "nevermore".
  • Allusion
  • The narrator stated to shriek. He said get back into the tempest and the nights Plutonium shore! Leave no black plume as a token of that lie thy soul hath spoken! Leave my loneliness unbroken!-quit the bust above my door!
  • With the raven still flitting, still sitting, still is sitting. On the pallid bust of Pallas just above his chamber door. It was like an eye of a demon. He could see the shadow on the floor. Shall be lifted -nevermore
  • Perched upon a bust of Pallas. What that means is the raven flew into his room and sat on the top of his door. A pallas is a ancient Greek god.
