Outnumbered, the Greeks line up, in a very thin line to battle the thick line of Persians.
One night Datis loaded up ships, and while the Athenian army was at marathon he would sail around the coast and invade Athens
The Greeks knew that they had to be victorious fast and move quickly to Athens, so they quickly marched into battle. This surprised the Persians.
The Greeks were victorious!
The Greeks quickly marched the 26 miles to Athens
The Greeks made it in time to line up and wait for Datis. When Datis saw them waiting for him, he knew they had been defeated, so he turned his ships around.
